SSA Appreciates Volunteers
Message from the Board of Directors of the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association:A key factor in the preservation of Saskatchewan ’s snowmobile trail system is the ability to recruit “the right people” for the many volunteer roles that each snowmobile club has to offer. Our goal is to provide fun and challenging volunteer positions. In order to keep our safe snowmobile trails – we depend on volunteers.
As an association that depends primarily on adult volunteers to deliver safe snowmobile trails for our younger generation, it is important that the association focuses on the needs of the volunteer. We want to find adults that have the skills and willingness; then we can adapt these skills where needed.
The Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association has a toll free line 1-800-499-7533 for volunteers to phone Monday through Friday; from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each of those days. Friendly and competent staff will provide assistance for volunteers working for member snowmobile clubs.
The Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association offers three Risk Management Seminars each year. Those that attend are certified groomer operators and receive a certificate that states this.
The Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association is very happy that you have come to this page of our web site. We are very happy that you are interested in becoming a snowmobile volunteer with a snowmobile club in your area.
The volunteer screening questions are designed to gather information about yourself that will tell us what you like to do and what your past experiences have been. This information will help you and your local snowmobile club find things that you can do for your snowmobile club as a volunteer.
You do not have to be a snowmobiler to belong to a snowmobile club. Snowmobile clubs organize many functions that benefit your local community. You can become a part of this and make your town or community a much better place to live because of what you contribute.
Benefits of becoming an outdoor snowmobile volunteer are:
- snowmobiling is a cure for cabin fever in winter
- snowmobiling fosters the camaraderie of friends and family
- winter photography opportunities become available on a snowmobile
